Diagonal braces fill the space between the horizontal rails on both side panels. They give rose canes and flowering vines more tying points before the stems reach the curved top, so growth can be spread across the full 40 cm panel.
Measure the clear opening first, then make sure the 40 cm side panels fit beside the path. Leave enough access on both sides for tying and pruning.
